Valentine Slate Project

Say “I Love You” with this heartfelt creation!

Materials Used:

#4216 - Candy Hearts Stencil - $12.00

10” x 10” Slate - $11.00

Paint Kit – $15.00 (Colors used: #29 Cardinal Red, #34 Dark Historic Red,

#24 Hot Pink, #25 Mauve, #88 Soldier Blue, White)

Directions:

Wipe off the surface of the slate to remove dust. Paint with 2-3 coats of White paint, following the rough edge of the slate and leaving about a ¼” rough edge all around. Dry thoroughly in between coats.

Overlay 1- Stencil the large heart with Cardinal Red. Shade with

Dark Historic Red.

Overlay 2 – Stencil the small heart that falls on the larger Red heart with

White. When dry, stencil both smaller hearts with Hot Pink.

Shade with Mauve.

Overlay 3 – Stencil the letters with Soldier Blue. A small ¼” stencil brush

works best for this.

With a very dry stencil brush or sponge, lightly dust around the painted edge of the slate with either Cardinal Red or Hot Pink.
