Custom Resizing & Cutting

Custom resizing for many of our stencils is available for an additional charge.  Some of our patterns are not suitable for resizing and therefore, these custom orders should be placed via phone (1-800-742-4520).  

Normally, enlargements and reductions tend to be 50% larger or smaller.  For enlargements, we are limited by the size of plastic used which is 36" x 40".  We will give you a quote over the phone when you order. To give you a better idea of the cost for this service, we usually do a reduction for no extra cost.  Enlargements usually will be an additional charge of $10.00.  Allow 7 to 10 days, plus shipping time, for custom work.  

We will need to know how tall you want the design if it is a border.  Keep in mind that the design will be surrounded by a 1 inch margin of plastic.  Sometimes, at your request, we can make that margin smaller if you are trying to squeeze the pattern into a certain area.  If you are ordering a spot design, to fit into a certain area, please let us know the size of that area.  We will also need to know the limiting height or the limiting length of the design.  For example, if you want a 2 inch tall by 4 inch pattern blown up to 6 inches tall, the computer will proportionately adjust the length to 12 inches. 

Converting Regular Stencils To Embossing Stencils 

Sometimes, we are able to convert a painting stencil to an embossing stencil (used for plaster work).  Please note that often you are converting a multi-layered stencil to a single layer stencil so some detail, such as veining, may be lost.  Embossing stencils are 10 mil thick.  The largest that we can cut on this thicker plastic is 18 inches by 24 inches.  Slight yellowing might appear on the plastic which will not affect the performance of the embossing stencil.  It is mandatory that you place this type of order over the phone (1-800-742-4520).  A quote will be given at that time.

Custom Cutting  

We can convert your drawings into stencils.  It is best for us to work off of line drawings or tracings done in thin black marker.  Sorry, we can not work off of photographs or magazine clippings.  It is helpful to designate which parts you want on which overlays.  We need to know the final height of the pattern.  Quotes will be given when we see the actual design.  We can quote off of a fax of the design but to do the work we will need the actual drawing mailed in.  Our address is: American Home Stencils, 10007 S. 76th St., Franklin, WI 53132.  Once again, we are limited to a stencil size of 36 inches by 40 inches.
